ALPHAGLAS® PTFE Coated Belts

High Performance PTFE Coated Belts

ALPHAGLAS® belts
ALPHAGLAS®’ High Performance PTFE Division delivers superior quality PTFE engineered belts for standard and custom applications. PTFE coatings provide a barrier that resists most chemicals and solvents. The addition of fiberglass improves tensile strength and adds resistance to tears, punctures and abrasion.

PTFE coatings are non-toxic, odorless and tasteless and have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in food processing, packaging and handling. Alphaglas® fabrics, tapes and belts comply with the requirements of FDA regulation 21 CR177.1550.

PTFE fluorocarbon resins have the lowest coefficient of friction of any known solid material, allowing materials to slip, glide and release easily without external lubrication. Additional characteristics include heat and cold resistance, high dielectric strength, dimensional stability and low electrical losses.

ALPHAGLAS®  belt applications include non-stick surfaces in the paint, adhesive and food processing industries as well as packaging and flex-intensive applications. ALPHAGLAS® combines PTFE coating advancements with a woven fiberglass substrate to produce fabrics, tapes and belts with excellent release surfaces for a wide variety of materials handling applications.

Alphaglas® Belts

Manufactured from woven fiberglass fabric coated with PTFE, ALPHAGLAS® belts are carefully custom fabricated to meet specific application requirements. ALPHAGLAS® belts have superior release surfaces and outstanding thermal, chemical, mechanical and electrical properties. Alpha PTFE-coated belts are available in both non-porous and porous styles with a variety of grades and splice methods.

ALPHAGLAS® PTFE belts are non-toxic, odorless and tasteless. Both products comply with the requirements of FDA regulation 21 CFR177.1550 for use in food processing, packaging and handling. Porous belts are used to convey, process and handle materials that require the passage of air, gases or liquids directly through the belt.

ALPHAGLAS® coated belts are used worldwide in a variety of industries and applications, including food handling and the conveyance of textiles, processed chemicals, extruded plastics, uncured elastomers and plywood sheets.

ALPHAGLAS® PTFE COATED BELT GRADES

Premium Grade — Extra Heavy Coating for a Smoother Surface
ALPHAGLAS® Premium grade belts have a super-smooth surface, superior chemical resistance and outstanding electrical strength. These belts are highly non-porous and ideal for applications where fabric weave impression is undesirable, or where sticky or gummy materials are being conveyed.

Mechanical Grade
ALPHAGLAS® Mechanical grade belts have the increased surface texture necessary for a variety of mechanical low-load applications. This grade is preferred where economy is more important than maximum resistance to chemicals or solvents.

Standard Grade
Standard grade belts provide the optimum balance of strength, flexibility, surface smoothness and price.

High Tear/Crease Resistant PTFE Belt Grade
Special pre-coating treatment of glass fabric provides exceptional resistance to tearing, creasing, and folding. This belt grade is suggested for higher speeds.

Conductive/Anti-Static PTFE Belt Grade
Conductive/anti-static grade belts have a special conductive treatment to reduce static buildup.

Porous/Semi-Porous PTFE Belt Grades
Lightly coated porous and semi-porous belts allow outgassing of volatile products. They promote drying by allowing airflow through the belt. This grade is suggested for applications where porosity is required as in drying applications or microwave cooking ovens.
